Paul started his career in technology with stints in software development, immunology, research, and sales. Prior to founding Sage in 2009, Paul ran global recruiting teams for AKQA, Crispin Porter+Bogusky, and Robert Half Technology. At Robert Half, he managed the largest technology recruiting division in San Francisco. At Sage, Paul developed an efficient recruiting model and methodology to better align incentives for candidates and employers alike, helping make Sage one of the most value-driven recruiting firms in San Francisco, the US, and Europe. Paul holds a master’s degree in organizational development from the University of San Francisco, and a bachelor’s degree in economics with a concentration in computer science from the University of California at San Diego. He also has certifications in executive coaching and yoga.

Smita joined Sage in 2016 after a 15-year stint in technology and corporate communications, where she worked for global and midsize PR firms, including Weber Shandwick, Burson Marsteller, and others, in both Silicon Valley and NYC. She’s worked on communications strategy for clients such as Qualcomm, Symantec, Microsoft and many others. At Sage, Smita oversees operations and finance, and also serves as the lead recruiter for communications and PR clients. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics with a minor in psychology from the University of California at Irvine.

Dan has been with Sage since 2010 after a highly successful career in mergers & acquisitions and sales & general management for large and mid-size technology providers. Prior to Sage, Dan held the position of Director of Enterprise Sales at Netapp, where he helped transform the company salesforce from primarily technical selling into a consultative relationship building organization. Previously, Dan was also a professor at University of San Francisco and taught Corporate Strategy and Organizational Development. Dan is adept at all types of searches from technical positions to Director/VP leadership roles for management consulting, technology and life sciences firms. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from University of Illinois, as well as an MBA from University of Chicago.

Matthew Schwab joined Sage in July 2020 as Vice President of Strategy, tasked to build a scalable, repeatable go-to-market sales and marketing process. Since 2014, Mr. Schwab has mentored, advised and consulted to early stage startups and their founders, during which he has researched and developed a Startup Sales Training program. Most notably, he was an Advisor to Fivetran (Y-Combinator Winter 2013) which was recently valued at $1.2 Billion with a $100 Million Series C investment led by Andreessen Horowitz and General Catalyst. Currently, Mr. Schwab is a startup mentor (pro bono) at Carnegie Mellon University’s VentureBridge accelerator, VISA International’s FinTech accelerator, and Sutter Rock Capital’s accelerator, GSVlabs. Mr. Schwab earned an A.B. in Economics from Amherst College and an MBA from the University of Michigan. He lives in Santa Cruz, California.
